The Studio:
This used to be our master bedroom suite. We enjoyed the privacy and intimacy of the space. It was here we retreated every evening to relax and enjoy some quiet time, read, or watch TV before retiring for the night.
Unfortunately, Cliff's knees require us to move to a downstairs bedroom. Now, you can be the beneficiary of this special space for the time you plan to visit Santa Barbara.
The Studio consists of a "great" room with kitchenette, a large bathroom, and a large closet. It's approximately 800 square feet of space, with sleeping area at one end that is raised 2 steps above the main level. Two sky-lights and the conventional window overlooking the street let in lots of light; and, a large window seat beneath 2 large roof windows offer a view of the surrounding trees and neighborhood. In May/June the jacaranda blooms with beautiful purple flowers, just outside these windows.
The furnishings consist of a queen sized bed on the raised area; an octagonal oak table and 4 chairs, a Lazy-Boy loveseat/double recliner, a coffee table, and a long vintage couch on the main level. There's also a roll-away bed if there are 3 in your party. And, for an infant, we can provide a Graco Pack and Play Crib.
The bathroom is big enough to use for dressing, with a double vanity, large bi-level walk-in shower, a toilet and a bidet, and 2 openable skylights that let in lots of light and breezes.
There is an openable skylight in the closet, which is also very large and suitable as a dressing room; or, could fit a crib, allowing the door to be closed so the baby could sleep without being disturbed by the grownups.
This is a perfect space for a single person, or a couple. If you have a baby, we can supply a portable crib. You'll find this Studio spacious, yet cozy.
Amenities include:
a TV and VCR/DVD player. Digital Cable brings you over 200 channels, including HBO; plus music channels. on the landing just outside the Studio door is a desk area equipped with a printer, where you can set up your laptop. (We can also provide a desktop if you choose not to bring your laptop.) You can communicate with the internet via broadband wireless or hardwired ethernet.The Hot tub on the deck is a shared amenity of the property, which you are welcome to use.The gas grill is also on the deck and available for your use.The washer and dryer on site are available for your use at no additional charge.Finally, we are very "pet friendly", so don't feel that you have to leave your "best" friend behind when you vacation.
